Your body is the greatest vehicle that has ever been created! OH MY… the intricacies, the details, the overall quality, the precision of all the parts, the perfection of multiple systems all coordinating to work together with unexplainable synergy. This amazing vehicle allows us to walk, talk, eat, breathe, see, hear, etc… it’s literally unexplainable…

However, regular maintenance IS required…and therein lays the rub!

Now if we use a car as a metaphor we can easily understand this analogy. If you were to walk into Lamborghini dealer and decide to buy the top of the line vehicle from him he would spend a great deal of time explaining the care and upkeep that you would need to do to make sure that this amazing vehicle stayed working at it’s optimal level. In fact, he would make sure that you knew that if you didn’t take care of the vehicle in the manner that was best for it, your warranty would be null and void.

This makes sense right?

I mean it is a $400,000 Lamborghini.

Now, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t use the best materials they could. It’s just the nature of taking care of a super high-end vehicle that you get the privilege to drive around. No matter how careful you are, you are going to drive on some uneven roads, you’re going to hit some potholes, you will probably get caught in the bad weather from time to time, and you may even get bumped by someone else. Needless to say, there are so many outside factors that can affect the cars performance that the only way to keep it running at the optimal level it was designed to, is to get regular maintenance.

And any good mechanic will tell you it is much easier and definitely much cheaper to take care of the little things along the way and than to wait until something major happens before taking it in.

The same is true with our bodies!

At our health center, people come in all the time and share stories of how their back, knee, hip, etc went out and all they were doing was carrying a bag of groceries, or walking up a flight of stairs or lifting up their little child. And what they don’t seem to understand is that it wasn’t that isolated incident but years of hitting small potholes, getting bumped, or just normal wear and tear that wasn’t being taken care of and whatever they were doing when they got hurt was simply the proverbial “straw that broke the camels back.”

Stress is often like that. How many times have you gotten really angry over something and when you looked back at it you had to admit that the incident in question certainly didn’t seem like it deserved to become such a big deal? Most of the time, it was simply the last of a series of many things that were weighing on you and that just happened to be the thing that pushed you over the edge.

It may sound obvious but somehow very few of us connect the dots and take the time to release our stress every day so that the little things don’t build up. And most of our stress is simply an accumulation, day after day, of thousands of little things. Things that by themselves weren’t a big deal at all, but all together… well, if you’re human, I’m sure you’ve been there. J By taking just a few minutes a day to release your stress you can let go of the little things. And not only that but when the truly big things does come your way, you have the tools and the practice to support yourself through them.

Just like a car needs a bigger scheduled maintenance every so often, we are going to encounter big challenges in our life from time to time. The goal is not to avoid the challenges, that would be impossible, but rather to keep ourselves in the best shape possible to handle them.

Try this right now… feel around inside your body and see where you are holding your stress. It maybe your shoulders, your neck, your lower back… where is it for you? Now, simply close your eyes take a slow deep breath and breathe into the area that you are focusing on… feel the fresh, pure, oxygen relaxing that part of your body. Do this for 5 full breaths. Can you feel the difference? Often we don’t even realize how tight we are in a certain area. And with each breath, you may experience a sensation of letting go and feeling looser inside. You may even start to feel a slight tingle as that area continues to relax. This is a simple but very powerful technique that you can do whenever and wherever you want. Try doing it tonight when you get into bed. Trust us, it is way better than counting sheep.

At www.completebalance.com we start with 3 simple but very powerful stress release techniques that you can do in just a couple minutes a day. By forming a daily habit of releasing stress each evening you will not only sleep better than ever but you will start every morning with a full tank of gas and all systems ready to go. J

The Baietto Brothers – Guest Bloggers Extraordinaire!

I’m a big fan of magic… and I especially love the tricks or illusions that involve reading other people’s minds… for example right now think of a number between 1 and 10… the first one that comes to mind… write it down…let me guess… you picked…

(answer at the end of the article )

Here’s another one… In one word how would you describe your life in the last couple weeks? Let me guess… “BUSY” (amazing you say, not so much, seeing that almost everyone in our country feels that their lives are always “really busy.” Try it out… ask the next 10 people the above question and see how consistent the answer is. And that doesn’t mean it’s not true. On the contrary, in our fast paced world, it is simply a fact that most of us have so much on our plate, so many balls in the air, so many responsibilities, so much information to continually process, that we are often playing catch up from the moment we wake up in the morning.

Now, we would love to snap our fingers and relieve you from all your earthly duties for the next 30 days so that you could viscerally experience how it feels to be truly relaxed and worry free… but that really would be “magic”… so instead, by the powers invested in us, we aim to at least give you a glimpse of what that feeling is, even if it’s just a momentary daily reminder.

But before we do that, let’s look at how most of us compound the problem. Science has long known that the mind cannot distinguish from what is really happening and that which is vividly imagined. The simplest example is when we dream. Have you ever had a scary dream and woke up sweating with your heart racing. When you woke up you realized it clearly wasn’t happening in reality, but your body was reacting as if it was completely true. Now when we are awake, most of us are continually thinking (imagining) all of the things we have to do today and usually we are worrying about them in one way or another. And whether we are just continually going over them in our mind, which is technically the same as actually doing them over and over… or worrying about whether we did them right, whether we’ll get them all done, or why no one is helping us, our bodies are experiencing the stress of many times what is actually happening.

Believe us, your day is plenty full without your mind adding to it and yet that is exactly what is happening. You are getting the stress of your real day plus the illusionary stress of your mind’s continual repetition of what you’ve done, are doing, and still need to do.

This is the problem with an overactive imagination that has gone untrained and unmonitored. The old saying, “the mind is a terrific servant, but a terrible master,” speaks to this. And many of the eastern philosophies focus a great deal of training on simply quieting the mind. This is the whole premise of meditation.

In our INNERGIZER program, we share a couple short but extremely powerful guided meditation techniques that are designed to have you experience the well of energy you free up when you quiet the mind. Even, if only for a few minutes.

Try this right now… close your eyes and take 10 slow, long breathes. And simply focus on the flow of air in and out of your lungs.

Could you make it to 10 without your mind wondering… don’t worry most people can’t get past 7 the first time. (which, by the way, was the number you picked at the beginning of this article J

For more magic on releasing stress and freeing up tons of energy please go to www.completebalance.com.

StopStressingNow.com

Time is the great equalizer. No matter who you are, from President of the United States, to the laziest among us, everyone gets the same 24 hours every day. You can wasted them or use them for good and it passes no judgment. No matter what happened yesterday, today, everyone’s clock is reset (no pun intended) to a fresh 24. So, since we can’t ever get MORE time, it is only a question of improving the QUALITY of the time we do have. And one of the best ways to do that is to get a good night’s sleep, EVERY night.

They are “The Baietto Brothers”. I was so impressed and inspired with their work I have asked them to be a guest blogger. They will also be guests on my radio show on January 17th.

Jeffrey Baietto, M.A., (Long hair on the right) co-creator of The InnerGIZER Program, is a life coach, author, speaker and consummate world traveler based in southern California. He works both individually and in large groups and specializes in helping people tap into the unlimited creative power that they have inside and then directing that power towards co-creating the life of their dreams. Jeff has his masters in Spiritual Psychology and assists his clients in making powerful and positive changes in all areas of life including: career, relationship, finances, health and overall spiritual growth.

Jason Baietto, D.C. co-creator of The InnerGIZER Program, is a passionate wellness chiropractor and founder of Complete Balance Wellness Center in southern California. He is a committed educator who has been a guest lecturer for Wells Fargo, Contour Aerospace, the Embassy Suite Hotels, and more! Dr. Baietto teaches people how to be healthy by choice, not by chance. He and his staff help thousands of people every year reach their health goals by teaching them how to balance their bodies and their lives

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Jeff and Jason Baietto as they discuss one of my favorite times of the day… bedtime.

Dr. Jason Baietto & Jeffrey Baietto –

Remember that question as a child? Mom or dad asking you, is it bedtime yet? And the universal answer from every child no matter what time of night it is of course… a resounding “NO.” But thankfully our parents had the last word and we did in fact have to go to bed and get our sleep. But then we grew up and without the constant prodding of our parents most of us have forgotten what a good idea it is to have a bedtime.

I was recently introduced to the television show 24, in which Keifer Sutherland plays, Jack Bower, a renegade federal agent who plays by his own rules, who goes up against every trial imaginable in one 24 hour period. The whole season takes place in one day, with every episode representing one hour of passing time. And at the beginning of every show, Jack, sets the stage by recapping all of the horrendous things that are happening: his family has been kidnapped, there is a plot to kill one of the presidential nominees, and a few of the people he work with may be involved with one or both… and then he says… “This is going to be the longest day of my life.”

From the very first scene all the way through the season, the adrenaline is racing at full throttle, Jack is literally always out of breath, always minutes away from a huge catastrophe, and each harrowing escape only leads to an even more dramatic and more devastating set of circumstances.

Now this show has been incredibly popular and I think I understand why. Most people can truly relate to this lifestyle and can easily see themselves in the role of our hero Jack. And while we may not be working undercover for the government or trying to spoil an international espionage plot against the next commander and chief, most of us are putting out our own fires all day, every day. So overwhelmed with the deadlines and demands of our crazy, hectic lives, trying to balance work, family, and the rest of modern day responsibilities most of us can honestly say at the beginning of almost every day, “This is going to be the longest day of my life.”

And so not being able to add more hours to the day, something has to give, and that something is all too often…. sleep.

The situation has gotten so bad that many consider a good night sleep a pure luxury instead of the biological necessity that it is. And so with each passing day we become more and more deprived of the rest that we need to operate at our highest level. What difference does a good night sleep make you ask?

Did you know that sleep…

•Helps repair the entire body at a cellular level

•Helps maintain a healthy heart both lowering cholesterol levels and inflammatory markers that are linked to heart attacks, heart disease, and strokes.

•Reduces stress on every system of your body, most of which are totally overtaxed by the enormous strains of our current lifestyles.

•Improves the memory by organizing and correlating memories. This improves focus, recall and overall retention. Basically, sleeping makes us smarter, which is where the phrase, “why don’t you sleep on it” came from and is still used when faced with a big decision…

•Sleep can even help control your body weight: studies show that when you are deprived of sleep normal hormone levels become unbalanced and your appetite increases, especially for fats and carbohydrates. How’s that for diet advice… you need to get more sleep. Now that’s my kind of diet.

So give yourself a bedtime. Make it a priority. Our bodies love consistency. By simply going to bed at the same time every night the body gets on a rhythm and will work much more optimally. This simple habit has a powerfully restorative effect on the body and mind and greatly improves the quality of your sleep. Try it for one week and see for yourself what a difference it makes.
