Diana Lewis Jewell has been called everything from “the guru of gray hair,” to “Moses leading us out of the wilderness of hair coloring” as the author of Going Gray, Looking Great!, the first book of its kind for women considering letting their silver shine.

The Former Marketing Director of Vogue Magazine and Promotion Director of Seventeen, In early 2008, she founded www.goinggraylookinggreat.com, dedicated to women even thinking about going natural. Here, she dispenses advice daily, helping women go through the dreaded transitioning process, select the right makeup and wardrobe for their newly silvered locks, consider coloring procedures or haircare products that might boost or enhance their gray, and, indeed decide if going gray is right for them.

The website has fostered a strong, supportive community, is logged into in 80 countries around the world, and has an active Membership chatting daily on its pages.
She points out that “going natural” is a megatrend not envisioned at the time she wrote the book. “We’re now seeing two generations embracing authenticity, both boomers and Gen-Xers,” she says, “and it has to do with so many factors beyond a simple decision to stop coloring.”

From her beautiful East Wing office she helped them make history every day
Everyone loves the White House, including the hordes of movie, television, music and opera stars, the famous athletes, the celebrities du jour, the heads of state and government, and the political power players who visited every day. White House Story is filled with amusing stories about her encounters – the ones that went well, and the ones that, well, not so much…

From brilliant Easter Egg Rolls (look – it’s Robert de Niro!) to tours for the Grateful Dead and the former Queen of Greece (on the same day), Melinda’s days were filled with excitement, fun, and an unbelievably high level of stress. Her book is painfully honest – the good times, the very good times, and the broken-hearted times too. The White House is the world’s most famous house, but it’s still a mystery to most people. Melinda loves to throw open those doors and invite people in, with her book, speeches and interviews. These are stories you won’t hear anywhere else!

There was no more “inside” insider than Melinda Bates, and in White House Story she takes the reader along on what President Clinton called, “a hell of a ride.”

Creighton Wong – was born with a congenital defect that caused him to have missing fingers on both hands and required his right leg to be amputated above the knee.

He spent the first 25 years of his life participating in team sports, but never rode a bicycle or ran long distances because his disability made it very difficult for him to do so without expensive adaptive equipment. It wasn’t until his thirties, after being inspired by CAF athlete Sarah Reinertsen’s story of becoming the first female amputee to finish the Ironman that Creighton decided to train for a triathlon himself. With assistance from CAF, Creighton completed the San Francisco Triathlon in 2008 and has gone on to compete in numerous triathlons.

An avid CAF supporter, Creighton has been involved through fundraising, mentoring, racing, and helping coordinate CAF events. This will be Creighton’s second time participating in the Avia Wildflower Triathlons.

Creighton says: “It has been very rewarding being able to help newly injured adults or injured veterans “become whole” again through the power of purpose through sport. Also, dear to my heart, I want young children with disabilities to have the opportunity to participate in sport – and there is no better way to do this than by “showing” them it can be done. In short, I want them to have opportunities that were unavailable when I was growing up.”

Rick Zapf is an author, speaker, father, family therapist, and Teen Communication Consultant in Boerne, Texas. Rick has worked with teenagers and their families over the past decade helping parents and teenagers effectively navigate the teenage years. In 2009, Rick released “How to Get Your Teen to Listen: A Guidebook to Effective Communication and Parenting” and “How 2 Talk 2 Teens: A Workbook to Successful Communication” (2nd edition) to help parents better understand and communicate with their teenagers. Rick’s diverse background, use of technology, unique humor, and love of social networking gives him the chance to connect with teenagers on their level. Rick presents himself in an open and honest way that teenagers respond and truly listen to.

Teenagers need the continued support of parents and adults to help them during this awkward stage. Rick has encouraged parents to step-up to parenting their teenager. “When your teenager was an infant, you had to carry around a diaper bag to be ready for their needs. As they grew you thought they needed you less – THEY NEED MORE! Parenting a teen doesn’t have to be difficult!”. Instantly, I knew Rick was the right guy to cover this topic for StopStressingNow.Com. So it’s with great pleasure that I introduce to you our newest guest blogger… Mr. Rick Zapf, MS

When it comes to dealing with a “Tyrant” who happens to be your BOSS, I can certainly speak first hand. I use to be a concierge at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and my boss was on a power trip of the highest order. She ran the department by purposefully cultivating a culture of fear. That’s never a smart strategy. It only serves to make the people who work for you hate you behind your back and even do things out of spite. She was an expert at threatening people into doing what she wanted, and would even get them to lie for her. It wasn’t a very happy place to work. However, I learned a lot from that experience. She taught me a lot about “Tangling with Tyrants”

I’m sure there are more then a few of you out there in the same situation. So I have asked a top Human Resource expert and the best selling author of “Tangling with Tyrants: Managing the Balance of Power at Work” to write a series of articles to help shed some light on this topic which can create such stress in our lives.

So it’s with great pleasure that I introduce to you, our newest guest blogger here at StopStressingNow.Com
