Your Body: Owner’s Manual, Part One

Your body is the greatest vehicle that has ever been created! OH MY… the intricacies, the details, the overall quality, the precision of all the parts, the perfection of multiple systems all coordinating to work together with unexplainable synergy. This amazing vehicle allows us to walk, talk, eat, breathe, see, hear, etc… it’s literally unexplainable…
However, regular maintenance IS required…and therein lays the rub!
Now if we use a car as a metaphor we can easily understand this analogy. If you were to walk into Lamborghini dealer and decide to buy the top of the line vehicle from him he would spend a great deal of time explaining the care and upkeep that you would need to do to make sure that this amazing vehicle stayed working at it’s optimal level. In fact, he would make sure that you knew that if you didn’t take care of the vehicle in the manner that was best for it, your warranty would be null and void.
This makes sense right?
I mean it is a $400,000 Lamborghini.

I’m a big fan of magic… and I especially love the tricks or illusions that involve reading other people’s minds… for example right now think of a number between 1 and 10… the first one that comes to mind… write it down…let me guess… you picked…
(answer at the end of the article J)
Here’s another one… In one word how would you describe your life in the last couple weeks? Let me guess… “BUSY” (amazing you say, not so much, seeing that almost everyone in our country feels that their lives are always “really busy.” Try it out… ask the next 10 people the above question and see how consistent the answer is. And that doesn’t mean it’s not true. On the contrary, in our fast paced world, it is simply a fact that most of us have so much on our plate, so many balls in the air, so many responsibilities, so much information to continually process, that we are often playing catch up from the moment we wake up in the morning.

Time is the great equalizer. No matter who you are, from President of the United States, to the laziest among us, everyone gets the same 24 hours every day. You can wasted them or use them for good and it passes no judgment. No matter what happened yesterday, today, everyone’s clock is reset (no pun intended) to a fresh 24. So, since we can’t ever get MORE time, it is only a question of improving the QUALITY of the time we do have. And one of the best ways to do that is to get a good night’s sleep, EVERY night.
